Meet Dr. Thein

Dr. Thein has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years in La Crescenta, in Los Angeles County. He has a dental practice that focuses on gentle dental care, technical quality, and understanding the needs of each individual. He received his dental degree from Boston University School of Dentistry.

He then went on to receive post-graduate training in cosmetic dentistry from the Esthetic Professional Dental Education Institute under Dr. Bruce Crispin, Professor Emeritus of the UCLA School of Dentistry, and training in complex full mouth reconstruction and occlusion from the Florida's Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Education. He also received advanced dental implant surgical training from the Misch Implant Institute at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Thein's clinical areas of expertise include cosmetic dentistry, dental anxiety, and dental implants. He loves doing smile makeovers and complex rehabilitations. He also enjoys helping people overcome their dental anxiety. Besides cultivating a gentle manner with patients, he also offers oral sedation or deep intravenous sedation to help people with their dental fears.

He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, and also a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Fewer than one-half of one percent of dentists achieve either of those credentials.

Dr. Thein is married to Dr. Lorna Kong, a pediatrician at Arcadia Methodist Hospital. They reside with their two children in La Canada.
